Alaina White
Alaina White is a graduate student in the Buddhism-Informed Contemplative Counseling program at Naropa University, graduating in May of 2026. Her training has centered around bringing compassion, mindfulness, and attuned presence into the therapeutic relationship. She is especially interested in how Buddhist teachings can help us relate to ourselves with more gentleness and clarity, and she strives to bring this spirit into her work with clients.
Before beginning graduate school, Alaina worked as a preschool teacher where she developed a deep appreciation for the emotional lives of children and the importance of being a steady, caring presence. She feels drawn to working with children, adolescents, and adults, and is committed to supporting people through a trauma-informed lens that honors each person’s unique stories and inner wisdom. Alaina is also curious about the ways our experiences live in the body and somatic approaches to healing.
Outside of her internship, Alaina loves being in the sun, spontaneous dancing in the kitchen while cooking new recipes, and helping organize teaching programs for her Buddhist community.
