Meredith Shepard

Meredith Shepard, she/hers, completed her doctorate in literature from Columbia University in 2018 with a research specialization in trauma recovery narratives. She went on to teach at Yale University and Rutgers University before becoming a mother and finding her new calling as a trauma recovery coach in private practice. Trauma work inspired Meredith to pursue marriage and family therapy and she is currently a graduate student at Capella University in the MFT program, slated to graduate in March 2027.

Meredith is enthusiastic about working with children (especially in play therapy), couples, mothers, and trauma survivors. As the proud sister of a transgender sibling and proud partner of an African immigrant, Meredith is particularly excited to work with those navigating the unique challenges and opportunities of multicultural and queer life. A native Coloradan, Meredith enjoys all the beautifully stereotypical Coloradan activities: hiking, rock climbing, and skiing, along with reading novels and spending time with her husband and son. Meredith is under the supervision of Judy Innes, MA, LPC, ACS LPC #3954
